For Today "Fearless" cover

My own song, which I think is worthy of a listen!

Thanks for watching ;)

War of Ages - "Return to Life" (2012) LEAK

IT HAS LEAKED! And it sounds great, despite the lack of originality I was hoping only WoA could deliver. It's still worth a spot in your collection and I suggest you pick it up right now. (and then go buy it ^^)

I, The Breather - "Truth and Purpose" (2012)

Love this album. They have improved from their last album greatly. Great guest vocals from Micah Kinard (Oh, Sleeper) in Mentalist is just awesome, and fits well into ITB's style.  The chants in Truth and Purpose are full of power, as well with the breakdowns. This album is a must-get and I hope you do give it a listen, and enjoy it.

Our Last Night - "We Will All Evolve" (2010)

Our Last Night presents a FANTASTIC album in almost every way. Flawless, from start to finish, is what I'd like to label it as. Basic, but catchy guitar riffs, choruses that you'll just want to sing along to, and one of my favorites is their lyrics. This album has 10 different songs that I guarantee you can relate to at least one of them at this point in life. As much as this album fucking r00lz, I'm afraid of a possibly poopy upcoming album but hey, can't judge something that hasn't even been released yet.

1. Elephants (3:30)**
2. The Air I Breathe (4:01)
3. Mouth Machine Gun (3:20)
4. Across the Ocean (4:22)***
5. Deceiver (4:07)
6. The Devil Inside You (3:49)
7. Distance is Destroying Me (2:59)
8. Carry Me to Safety (3:40)
9. Into The Future (3:35)
10. We Will All Evolve (4:29)***

Oh, Sleeper - "Children of Fire" (2011)

Oh, Sleeper has done it again. It's as if their previous two albums didn't do the job but now you have this 2011 release to prove they are still in the game at full effect. Their guitar still has that unique sound and technicality along with powerful lyrics leading every track to designate their passion. The progressiveness takes you on a rollercoaster to a place where Oh, Sleeper are the gods, and we are the slaves. I think for this one time in my life, I totally enjoy being a slave. Give it a listen, and if you have yet to listen to any other previous releases, maybe this will persuade you to do so.

1. Endseekers (3:06)**
2. Shed Your Soul (2:36)
3. The Marriage of Steel and Skin (2:56)
4. Hush Yael (4:28)
5. The Conscience Speaks (1:12)
6. Dealers of Fame (2:57)

Attila - "Rage" (2010) and "Outlawed" (2011)

Attila brings my first double post, only because I feel as if both can be displayed on one post. If you haven't heard Attila, you're probably unaware of the fact that "party metal" is present in the scene. But let's get real, we all knew a band full of party fiends playing metal would eventually of happened. They're a one-of-a-kind band but they are definitely worth the listen for ANY heavy-goer. Tracks like "Make it Sick", "Rage" and practically every song off of Outlawed is worth your full attention.

1. The End (0:25)
2. Make It Sick (2:51)***
3. The Invitation (2:56)
4. Rage (3:34)**
5. Lights Out (3:12)*
6. Temper (3:11)

All That Remains - "For We Are Many" (2011)

Some might bitch and moan about how this album is too soft for them. The reality of it is simply that; it is fucking heavy. Listening to the first track before any others is your best option to see what I'm saying. Breakdowns all over the album that'll make you bob your head, crazy solos in every track, catchy fast-paced riffs and an awesome job with the vocals. Philip Labonte does an amazing job expressing what he's capable of on the track "Some of the People, All of the Time". Overall, a release to make up for Overcome because in my opinion, that album now sounds like crap now that I've heard "For We Are Many".

1. Now Let Them Tremble... (1:23)
2. For We Are Many (2:59)**
3. The Last Time (3:58)
4. Some of the People, All of the Time (3:22)
5. Won't Go Quietly (4:00)*
6. Aggressive Opposition (3:45)
7. From the Outside (3:34)
8. Dead Wrong (3:07)
9. Faithless (3:34)
10. Hold On (2:57)***
11. Keepers of Fellow Man (3:10)
12. The Waiting One (4:48)

August Burns Red - "Leveler" (2011)

Probably one of the most anticipated albums of 2011. Discovering August Burns Red back in 2008 brought to my attention that there was a band in the scene capable of producing album after album and still not get old. The cover art will tell you what to expect in this album; colorful riffs, breakdowns and even some chickens pecking at the ground. Maybe they like salsa music? Wait, what the hell am I talking about? Internal Cannon [see below] is probably what I am talking about. As well as every other release from ABR, it is definitely worth a listen from start to finish.

1. Empire (3:52)
2. Internal Cannon (3:46)**
3. Divisions (3:20)
4. Cutting the Ties (5:02)
5. Pangaea (4:20)***
6. Carpe Diem (5:37)

8. Salt & Light (3:40)*
9. Poor Millionaire (4:28)
10. 1/16/2011 (0:52)

Update**

For any who follow-up with this blog, I thank you. For any who don't, go find your hole in the ground and stay in there. Anyways, I'm back. There's plenty of tunes I haven't uploaded that came out late 2010 and all through the year of 2011. Like any other year, 2011 holds room for disappointment, excitement, and always that room for fresh new bands in the scene(s). Be sure to check back for that. Anyways, I now work part-time and attend college (Penn State for any of those who are curious). Pretty silly how I choose the time in my life I am unusually busy to start updating this blog but who cares, right? It's the jams I upload that keep the cruel world ticking with elegance. If you would like to get in contact with me, I do have a Facebook (like half the population) in which you can keep up with my daily life, if it's that important to you. /update

Parkway Drive - "Deep Blue" (2010)

Deep Blue is what you get when you mix Parkway Drives' last two albums AND their EP. I'd like to call it another one of 2010's best releases. The album caught me off-guard when I first peeped it but then it's originality hit me after a few listens. Breakdowns are as heavy as ever, solos provide justice, and the vocals well, they just got better. One thing that didn't change was the odd lyrics PWD loves to use but I never looked down on them, they actually interest me.

1. Samsara (1:45)
2. Unrest (2:19)
3. Sleepwalker (4:01)**
4. Wreckage (3:21)
5. Deadweight (3:47)
6. Alone (4:30)
7. Pressures (3:22)
8. Deliver Me (4:13)***
9. Karma (3:49)
10. Home is for the Heartless (4:08)

Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! - "Something for Nothing" (2010)

Brought to the table is what would be labeled a clash of genres....metal, pop punk, hardcore, chunkcore.......naw, I'm just kiddin' about the 'chunkcore'. On a serious note, this album is another beaut from 2010. Catchy, to describe it in its' all, is the key to this album (along with the usual characteristics of °br00talness). You might have to get over the hump concerning C!NCC!'s vocals (and perhaps the lyrics based on friendship and your 'brothers'). They re-released it in 2011 and possibly will I have it up in the near future. Check up on that.....and this entire album, pronto.

1. Born of Adversity (2:56)
2. In Friends with Trust (3:27)***
3. Positiv-o (3:22)
4. We Fell Fast (4:31)
5. Time's Up! (3:53)
6. Summer Heat (3:09)*
7. Sink or Swim (4:21)**
8. Life (3:43)
9. Captain Blood (3:19)
10. For All We Know (2:51)
11. Milf (3:58)
12. Xoxo (2:58)

°br00talness; - what is considered a high level of brutality.

Buried In Verona - "Saturday Night Sever" (2010)

Remember all those bands you heard in 2010? If Buried in Verona isn't on that list then what the fuck are you waiting for? This is the best metalcore you will hear for awhile. Breakdowns, catchy riffs, melodic choruses...you want it, you got it. Saturday Night Sever is one of those albums you overlook but when you feast your ears onto it, you are quite surprised you almost did indeed skip listening to it.

1. The End (4:25)
2. Temptress (3:47)**
3. Saturday Night Sever (4:03)
4. Professor Plum in the Ballroom with the Candlestick (3:02)
5. Hangin' Hoes by their Toes (3:32)*
6. Go Go Gadget Suicide (3:36)
7. Rohypnol Suicide (4:07)
8. Bell Ringer (3:25)
9. You Left Me with No Goodbye (3:55)***
10. Cut Wrists and Sinking Ships (3:35)

With Passion - "What We See When We Shut Our Eyes" (2007)

This is Conducting From The Grave before their first EP and just by listen to the technicality, you can tell. It was a great find finding this album because I couldn't get enough of CFTG's technical riffage, this just opened up more, fresh goodness for my collection. Enjoy.

We Came as Romans - "To Plant a Seed" (2009)

Circle of Contempt - "Artifacts in Motion" (2009)

Finally this band has found an official name for them haha but this is technical metal at it's finest. I hate to say it but it's almost too technical for me. "Zerohour" is the only track I can remember off it that stood out, but check them all out of course.

Pretty fuckin' sick artwork for this sweet deathcore band. This album was just a remake of their first album, "The First Eulogy", which I'm guessing was self-released and this was once they got with a label. Every song is sexy as hell but be sure to check out "Unleash The Serpents".

1. The First Eulogy (0:51)
2. Purging of the Wicked (4:42)
3. Unleash the Serpents (3:33)
4. An Endless Cycle of Torture (3:26)
5. The Eyes of the Ranger (3:57)
6. On The Wings of Pegasus (4:12)
7. Raise the Banner (3:03)
8. Interlude (1:43)
9. Back to the Surface (4:28)
10. And the Angels Were Silent (5:05)
11. I Was Never a White Picket Fence Sorta Guy (4:23)
12. Their Own Hell (3:13)

Miss May I - "Apologies Are For The Weak" (2009)

Definitely one of the best metalcore bands out. Surprisingly, their riffs aren't that unoriginal as they are pretty melodic tagged along with breakdowns and clean choruses. Finding this band was probably one of my greatest discoveries as they have been out for quite some time. Check out the chorus in "Forgive and Forget" and pretty much any other song is THE shit.

1. A Dance With Aera Cura (3:19)
2. Architect (4:07)
3. Not Our Tomorrow (3:12)
4. Arms of the Messiah (3:15)
5. Apologies Are For The Weak (3:12)
6. Harlots Breath (3:56)
7. Tides (3:18)
8. Blessing With a Curse (3:03)
9. Porcelain Wings (3:20)
10. Forgive and Forget (3:32)

Ligeia - "Bad News" (2008)

Unfortunately, this band broke up but they left behind their best CD, in my opinion. Compared to their others, I think this one really stands out. Once I heard "I've Been Drinking" and "One Night Stand", I've enjoyed their music since.

1. Bad News (3:42)
2. Johnny Cash (3:11)
3. I've Been Drinkin' (2:30)
4. Hot Mess (2:20)
5. One Night Stand (2:37)
6. Teenage Wasteland (2:05)
7. Interlude (1:15)
8. Bombshell (3:17)
9. Heroin Diaries (2:52)
10. Thanks For Nothing (2:43)
11. Hoodrat (2:28)

Broadcast The Nightmare - "Twenty Twelve" (2009)

Known this band for quite awhile and this album is extremely good for a first release. I consider this band technical to a point and they put out some catchy riffs, 2-step-like breakdowns, and meaningful arpeggios tagged along with soft vocals which can be noted at 2:10 on the track "Hades Rising" which goes on until the end almost and is sweet. Grave Danger also explains the 2-step-like breakdowns.

1. Unsung Hero (3:13)
2. Anosognosia (4:13)
3. Viking Funeral (3:11)
4. Clone Ocean (3:31)
5. Shepherd's Prayer (3:28)
6. Survivor (2:48)
7. Grave Danger (1:43)
8. Hades Rising (4:00)
9. Vengeance The Sleeper (3:27)
10. The Last Exit (3:45)

For Today - "Ekklesia" (2008)

Tight new band I found, they remind me of Between the Buried and Me for some reason but it's an interesting type of technicality. Haven't even listened to the whole album yet and I'm sure every track is sweet on it and the intro is extremely good.

9. A Higher Standard (5:41)
10. With A Passion Burning (5:10)

Molotov Solution - "The Harbinger" (2009)

Brutal release from this band. Definitely a lot more heavier than their previous album. One of deathcore's finest artists out right now especially with this album. Check out The Dawn of Ascendancy and Warlords.

1. Warlords (3:25)
2. Rule By Secrecy (3:54)
3. Only The Dead (3:08)
4. Atrum Inritus (2:19)

ABACABB - "Survivalist" (2009)

VERY brutal and technical album. The breakdowns are amazing and the whole album would just be fine with being labeled as brutality. Survivalist and Destruction are some good tracks.

Lamb of God - Wrath (2009)
